BEKAH has been very lucky to train under some of today’s most sought-after creators. She has spent a great amount of time traveling with and assisting choreographers such as Derek Mitchell, Lane Napper, Emily Bufferd, and Emily Greenwell at various studios, workshops, and conventions across the nation.
Additionally, Bekah has begun a choreographic journey of her own, with her work being presented on prestigious NYC stages such as Symphony Space, the Peridance Salvatore Capezio Theatre, and the Highline Ballroom. She has showcased pieces in several festivals like the 2017 Young Choreographer’s Festival, Peridance’s APEX Showcase, Jared Grime’s “Run the Night,” Shelly Hutchinson’s “New York Moves,” and a multitude of other benefits and events. Under the direction of her mentor Derek Mitchell, Bekah also has had the opportunity to dabble in the flash mob business, choreographing and directing several marriage proposal and birthday celebration performances. Recently, she got the opportunity to choreograph a video shoot with a group of international dancers at Broadway Dance Center, directed by Bonnie Erickson.
Presently, Bekah teaches dance and sets work at several local dance studios. She has also had the opportunity to teach at the Peridance Capezio Center as well as lead “improv jams” for program students at Broadway Dance Center. She currently has several new works in progress that can be seen in upcoming showcases. Through performance and choreography, Bekah has developed a passion for teaching and sharing, and hopes to spread creativity and light with everyone she gets the chance to connect to.
